Similarly, having your baby breastfeed the first milk helps him fight all the immoral infections and diseases. The best time considered to begin breastfeeding is the 1st hour or 2nd hour after birth for both mother and the baby. The early feeding benefits in stimulating breast milk production. Also, it results in contraction of the mother's uterus which can help stop the extreme bleeding.

Breast milk's nutritional composition is meant to be perfect for the newborn. Breast milk comprises more than 200 nutrients and helps in the development of your baby's immune system. It further improves the growth of your baby's brain which results in higher IQ and improved cognitive test scores. Similarly, breastfed babies tend to be less prone to various infections including and urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and ear infections. Breast feeding also lowers the baby's risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

For you as a mother, breastfeeding reduces postpartum bleeding and helps your uterus shrink to its normal size faster. It also promotes a close bonding between you and your baby as you get to experience a skin to skin contact with your little one while you breastfeed. Mothers who breastfeed have higher levels of satisfaction and are said to be happier.

Breastfeeding is much more than just physical benefits. Breastfeeding is considered to be a spiritual exercise. The act of nurturing another life through your own body is a powerful activity. The babies who have been breastfed until the normal age of 2 or 3 grows up to be more emotionally mature and stable adults as compared to the babies who have not been breastfed.
